Chinese Ambassador Lin Nan Visits Anse Royale Hospital to Review Health Partnership
VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Chinese Ambassador to Seychelles, Lin Nan, visited the Anse Royale Hospital yesterday at the invitation of the Ministry of Health, allowing the embassy to see first-hand the impact of the facility on healthcare delivery in the south of Mahé.
The hospital, which was generously donated by the Chinese government and opened in 2013, is one of the cornerstones of the long-standing relationship between China and Seychelles, and serves a large catchment of residents from Anse Royale and surrounding districts. During the tour, the Ambassador was briefed by senior health staff on the range of services provided, including outpatient care, maternal and child health, and emergency response.
Health officials accompanying the visit included Marylene Lucas, director for Community Health Services, and John Dubel, principal nursing officer for Community Health. Pamela Dubignon, nurse manager of the hospital, thanked the Ambassador for the visit and the steady support of China to health development in Seychelles. The visit is one of a series of engagements planned for the opening months of 2025 as the two countries mark more than a decade of cooperation in the health sector.
