Mark Your Calendars: Seychelles 2025 Elections Set for September 25–27

The countdown has officially begun. The Electoral Commission of Seychelles (ECS) has confirmed that the nation’s highly anticipated Presidential and National Assembly elections will take place over three days—Thursday 25 to Saturday 27 September 2025, with Saturday the 27th designated as the main polling day.

The announcement came during a press conference held Monday at the ECS Headquarters in Victoria, led by Chairperson Wendy Didon, who was flanked by fellow Commissioners and senior electoral officers. And yes—things are looking digital, structured, and decidedly more accessible this time around.

“We are committed to delivering a process that is smooth, transparent, and inclusive,” said Didon, addressing concerns about voter access, integrity, and digital security.

Alongside the polling dates, the Commission laid out a clear roadmap for voter registration, candidate nomination, and the much-discussed digital registration process, which is expected to modernize how Seychellois engage with their democratic rights.

This election cycle promises to be anything but business as usual. With voter turnout intentions uncertain (as revealed in our recent Seychelles Times independent survey) and the political climate heating up, all eyes will be on September.

Whether you’re voting for change, continuity, or still on the fence—it’s time to get registered, get informed, and get ready. Seychelles is heading back to the ballot box. Let the games begin.
