VICTORIA, Seychelles — The government has conducted a comprehensive review of its first seven months in office, taking stock of progress made against its policy agenda and identifying priorities for the period ahead. The review covered achievements, challenges, and the steps needed to deliver on the commitments made to the Seychellois people.
According to the Office of the President, the review covered all major policy areas including the economy, health, education, social affairs, infrastructure, and the environment. Officials presented detailed updates on programmes and initiatives, with particular attention to those that have had the most significant impact on the lives of citizens. The review also identified areas where progress has been slower than anticipated, with explanations provided and corrective actions outlined.
According to the review, the government has made notable progress in several areas, including the strengthening of public services, investment in infrastructure, and the launch of new programmes to support youth employment and small business development. The review also highlighted ongoing efforts to modernise the public service, improve the business environment, and address long-standing challenges in areas such as housing and waste management.
The review concluded with a renewed commitment to delivering on the government’s programme of work, with ministers and senior officials tasked with implementing the corrective actions identified. Officials said the government remains focused on its long-term vision for Seychelles, which prioritises inclusive growth, social cohesion, and environmental sustainability.
