Sandra Hall Appointed Deputy Director of Financial Intelligence Unit
VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Office of the President has announced the appointment of Sandra Hall as deputy director of the Financial Intelligence Unit. Ms Hall is an accomplished professional in the fields of compliance, financial regulation, and governance, with over a decade of experience spanning both the public and private sectors. She possesses extensive expertise in anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism, regulatory compliance, and financial crime risk management.
Earlier in her career, Ms Hall served at the FIU of Seychelles in various senior capacities, including in legal policy, operations, and external relations. Prior to that she worked with the National Assembly and contributed to the establishment of the University of Seychelles. Ms Hall holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in International Business, Finance and Economics from the University of Manchester, as well as a Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance with Merit.
She has further enhanced her professional credentials through specialised training in AML/CFT and is a certified Financial Action Task Force Standards Assessor. Her contributions extend to the international arena, where she has served on the executive committee of the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units and has chaired the ESAMLG Heads of FIUs Forum.
Prior to her appointment, Ms Hall was the chief compliance officer at the Nouvobanq. Her appointment is effective as of June 1, 2025. The FIU plays a critical role in safeguarding Seychelles’ financial system from illicit activities and ensuring compliance with international standards.
The appointment reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening the institutional capacity of key financial regulatory bodies. Ms Hall’s extensive experience in both domestic and international contexts will be valuable as the FIU continues its work in combating financial crime.
