VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Republic of Seychelles has honoured distinguished citizens at this year’s National Awards ceremony at State House, in recognition of their service, dedication, and contribution to the country. The President awarded 7 Medals of Honour, 6 Medals of Merit, and 2 Pride of the Republic of Seychelles Awards, marking the highest honours given by the State to Seychellois who have shown exemplary conduct in their respective fields.
The honourees, in a family photograph with President Wavel Ramkalawan, First Lady Linda Ramkalawan, and the Chairperson of the National Awards Committee, Robert Grandcourt, were recognised for acts of kindness, humanity, and service that have earned the respect and gratitude of the nation. The awards cover a wide range of contributions, from public service and education to the arts, sports, and community development.
President Ramkalawan paid tribute to the recipients and to the example they set for all Seychellois. The ceremony was an opportunity for the country to reflect on the values of service, dedication, and integrity that continue to shape the national identity, and to inspire future generations to follow in the footsteps of the honourees.
