President Ramkalawan Inaugurates Major Resilient Infrastructure Project
VICTORIA, Seychelles — President Wavel Ramkalawan has inaugurated a major national infrastructure project during an event at State House, marking a significant milestone in the country’s resilience-building efforts. The project, which began in early February 2025 with the construction of access routes to enable the movement of heavy equipment, is now nearing completion.
Internal Affairs Minister Errol Fon-… led the technical briefing, highlighting that the project is the largest of its kind in Seychelles, designed to shield the country from the impacts of climate change. The infrastructure is built to last for over 50 years, offering a durable and resilient solution.
‘This is the blueprint and the beginning of a new chapter in our national development,’ said one of the officials, noting the collaboration between the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Seychelles Planning Authority, and other agencies. The project is a symbol of national unity and of the country’s unwavering commitment to building a safer, stronger, and more resilient Seychelles.
