Health Minister Vidot Announces One-Stop Shop for Service Delivery
VICTORIA, Seychelles — Minister for Health Peggy Vidot has announced that by the end of the year, the ministry will roll out a one-stop shop service-delivery model that will improve the experience of citizens and businesses when engaging with the health system. The minister said the new model is intended to address long-standing complaints about fragmented services.
Speaking at a press conference, Minister Vidot said the one-stop shop would help with the service-delivery experience that citizens and businesses expect and that they are looking for. The new model will bring together under one roof the services that are currently scattered across various national laws, including applications for the Government Online Payment (GOP) system, which the minister said has been received really well by the public.
The minister added that those who have applied for a GOP certificate will receive it once the application has been approved. The one-stop shop is part of a broader reform of the health sector, which the minister said is needed to ensure that the system is able to meet the needs of the population. The ministry said it will continue to engage with the public and with businesses as the rollout progresses, and that feedback from users will be incorporated into the design of the service.
