Gaea Seychelles and Raffles Sign MoU to Boost Little Explorers Club on Praslin

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Gaea Conservation Network Seychelles and the Praslin-based five-star hotel Raffles Seychelles have signed a memorandum of understanding to support the development of the Little Explorers Club on Praslin. The ‘Little Explorers Club’ is an educational initiative designed to foster a deep connection between children and nature, encouraging them to explore and interact with the world around them.

Two active Little Explorers Clubs currently operate — one at Bel Ombre and one on Praslin. These are supported by the SeyCCAT BGF7 grant-funded project ‘Little Explorers Promoting Climate Action Through a Transformative Learning Programme on Marine Life and Fisheries’. Under the agreement, Raffles Seychelles will collaborate with Gaea Seychelles to support the development of the Praslin club, using the hotel’s resources to organise educational and sensitisation programmes for the children and young guests.

The signing ceremony on January 17 was attended by the Little Explorers on Praslin and their facilitator, Staniella Henriette; Francesca Adrienne, sustainability manager of Raffles Seychelles; Dr Elvina Henriette, director of Gaea Seychelles; and Steven Stefanuik, general manager of Raffles Seychelles. The partnership aims to empower the next generation of Seychellois to become passionate advocates for environmental conservation and sustainable development.
