Guy Morel Institute Marks Eighth Anniversary With Master Degree Partnerships and Campus Lease
VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Guy Morel Institute celebrated its eighth anniversary yesterday by announcing two major milestones: a memorandum of understanding with the Eastern and Southern African Management Institute and securing a 60-year lease for its current campus property following nearly a decade of negotiations.
The EASAMI partnership will deliver several master’s programmes for professionals including MBA in Business Administration, MPA in Public Administration, MBA in Human Resource Management, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Project Management, and Customs Management. Tuition fees remain competitive with most programmes under R50,000 and flexible learning opportunities available.
TGMI executive director Patrick Bristol and deputy executive director Lenny Gabriel described the developments as pivotal achievements. Mr Bristol noted that after nearly a decade of negotiations, the campus lease secures TGMI’s future and significantly improves its strategic position for growth and investment.
The institute has achieved full accreditation from the Seychelles Qualifications Authority on two occasions, certificating and diploma programmes remain accredited, whilst several new courses undergo re-accreditation. TGMI has recently become a PSI vendor, enabling local candidates to sit international examinations without travelling overseas.
Despite these achievements, TGMI continues facing financial challenges as it operates without direct government funding. Mr Bristol expressed gratitude to staff for their dedication and reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to engaging with government to strengthen its role in public service and capacity development.
TGMI has consistently offered accredited programmes alongside skills development courses since its May 2018 inauguration.
