Eighty-Nine Students Graduate from University of Seychelles in 2025 Cohort Ceremony

VICTORIA, Seychelles — A total of 89 students from the University of Seychelles (UniSey) were awarded their certificates, diplomas and degrees on Thursday morning, in a graduation ceremony held at the Anse Royale auditorium under the theme of critical thinking and national contribution.

The ceremony was attended by President Patrick Herminie, First Lady Veronique Herminie, cabinet ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, and the graduates’ families. Vice-Chancellor Joelle Perreau congratulated the graduates and urged them to remain rooted in their identity, open, responsible, and brave. She also highlighted the institution’s achievements during the year, including expanded research partnerships and new memorandum of understanding with project partners.

Graduates were recognised across 18 programmes within the faculty of arts and social development, and the faculty of business and sustainable development. Special awards, including the Colleen Morel Award, Best Performer and Dean’s Award, were presented to top achievers. Monik Choppy received both the S4S Colleen Award and the Best Performer prize for the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Environmental Science, and intends to continue her studies at Master’s level.

First-class Seychellois graduates from undergraduate degree programmes qualify for a government-funded Master’s level scholarship, supporting them to deepen their specialisation at UniSey and beyond.
