Deaf Students in Seychelles Celebrate Children’s Day with Music and Games
VICTORIA, Seychelles — Students from a school for the deaf in Seychelles have celebrated Children’s Day with a joyful programme of music, games, and shared surprises, in an event that highlighted inclusion and the right of every child to play, learn, and feel valued. The party, organised by the school with the support of parents and partners, was an opportunity for the children to take centre stage.
Activities included music sessions adapted for the students, group games, and a surprise visit that left smiles across the school. Teachers said the celebration was designed to be fully accessible, ensuring that every child could participate, communicate, and enjoy the day alongside their peers.
School leaders noted that Children’s Day is an important reminder of the responsibility of the entire community to ensure that children with disabilities are given equal opportunities to learn, play, and develop. The school thanked parents, partners, and supporters who made the day possible and reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive education in Seychelles.
