Two New Pastors Ordained into Seventh-Day Adventist Church Ministry in Seychelles

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Two new Seventh-Day Adventist Church Ministers — Pastors Norris Barra and Akish Yagambrun — were ordained into the work of the Gospel Ministry, in a special ceremony held on Saturday. The service, held at the International Conference Centre Seychelles, gathered believers from the faith’s various churches around Seychelles, for the momentous occasion, which featured uplifting songs and readings, and the ordination prayer and charge by both ordinands.

Pastor Abel Ntep highlighted the significance of the ordination for the Church and the Seychellois community in general. Pastor Ntep expressed contentment that his son, Pastor Norris Barra, decided to follow in his footsteps. “My sentiments are very strong. I thank God for that. After 16 years in Pastoral Work, to have two consecrated Pastors in our family is a blessing from God,” he said. Pastor Barra shared that he is extremely happy to have reached this new stage, and revealed that his focus is on encouraging more youths to lead a spiritual life.

Pastor Yagambrun, originally from Mauritius, presently serves at the St Louis, Grand Anse and Port Glaud churches. The special ordination service was streamed live to viewers and believers across the globe. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Church Ministers from higher organisations, including Pastor Passmore Mulambo, director of the Ministerial Association; Pastor Solofo Mesmert, President of the Indian Ocean Union Conference; and Pastor Vissen Mootoosamy, President of the Seychelles Mission.
