Former Secondary 5 Students in Seychelles Receive IGCSE Results

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Former Secondary 5 students across Seychelles have begun receiving their International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) results, in the first major exam sitting of the 2025 academic year.
The IGCSE, the international equivalent of the Cambridge O Level, is sat by students at the end of Secondary 5 and is used by the Ministry of Education as the basis for entry into Sixth Form programmes. The Ministry said results would be distributed to schools from Monday, with students and parents advised to contact form tutors for individual subject grades.
Headteachers said they expected a similar pass rate to last year, when the overall IGCSE pass rate reached 91 percent. The Ministry of Education is expected to publish a national summary of the 2025 results in the coming weeks, alongside guidance on Sixth Form subject choices for students progressing to post-secondary education.
