Citizens Engagement Platform Seychelles Salutes Volunteers on International Day
VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Citizens Engagement Platform Seychelles (Ceps) has honoured all its members for their dedication to volunteerism, in a message to mark International Volunteer Day, commemorated on December 5.
Ceps chairperson Dr Odile De Comarmond said this year’s theme, ‘Every Contribution Matters’, is fitting for the local context, given the challenges communities are facing. She thanked Ceps members and partners for stepping forward to serve in areas of great need, and noted that volunteerism is the backbone of any society, strengthening social cohesion and helping to protect those in need.
On the occasion, Ceps has appealed to the government and the population at large to promote volunteering, support volunteer efforts, and recognise the contributions that make a tangible difference in people’s lives. The platform has also invited others to join the noble effort, reiterating that every contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference.
