PMC Completes New Drainage Project at Anse François Housing Estate
VICTORIA, Seychelles — Residents of the Anse François housing estate in Pointe Larue are welcoming an improved drainage system, following the completion of a new drainage project by the Property Management Corporation (PMC) on the estate. The works were part of a wider programme to renew ageing infrastructure in the housing estate.
The project covered the replacement of deteriorated stormwater channels and the installation of additional drainage runs, designed to better manage heavy rainfall and reduce flooding in low-lying sections of the estate. According to the PMC, the work was carried out in close consultation with residents to minimise disruption and ensure that access to homes was maintained throughout the construction period.
Speaking during a brief site visit, the PMC team confirmed that the drainage system has been tested and is now fully operational, and that the surrounding areas have been reinstated. The Corporation also thanked residents for their patience and cooperation during the works, and reminded tenants to report any drainage issues or blockages to the PMC’s customer service desk so they can be addressed promptly. The drainage upgrade forms part of the government’s broader effort to upgrade housing estates across Mahé, Praslin and La Digue.
