VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Ministry of Education yesterday launched Careers Week 2025 under the theme ‘Making informed career choices for a successful future’, at a ceremony held at the Seychelles Institution of Technology. The annual event provides young people with a platform to obtain readily available information on emerging careers, in line with national demand.
This year, Careers Week is being celebrated from July 15 to 18, and incorporates World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) 2025 as part of its four-day programme. The theme for WYSD this year focuses on youth empowerment through AI and digital skills, an area that is rapidly transforming the global labour market and creating new opportunities for skilled young people.
Officials at the ministry said the celebration is designed to enable students to make career choices based on a clear understanding of the skills required by the labour market. The programme includes career talks, industry visits, workshops, and exhibitions by tertiary education institutions and prospective employers, all aimed at helping young Seychellois plan their futures with confidence.
