Ten École Française Graduates Honoured as New School Year Begins

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Ten graduates of the École Française des Seychelles (EFS) were honoured at the annual baccalauréat diploma ceremony held at the French ambassador’s residence in Victoria. The event was attended by Education Minister Dr Justin Valentin, French Ambassador to Seychelles Olivia Berkemeier-Christmann, and the president of the school’s board of governors.
The new graduates will pursue higher education in a range of fields across France, Mauritius and the Netherlands. Among them, several have secured placements at top French universities, including a place to study sport management, and another will read international relations at Middlesex University in Mauritius after obtaining her baccalauréat général with distinction.
Minister Valentin congratulated the graduates on their achievements and praised the EFS for sustaining a French-language educational pathway in Seychelles. The ceremony also marked the start of the 2025-2026 academic year for schools across the country, with many students beginning or returning to classes following the Independence Day holiday week.
