La Rosière School Revives Tourism Club to Inspire Future Hospitality Ambassadors

VICTORIA, Seychelles — La Rosière primary school has relaunched its tourism club with the goal of promoting culture and hospitality, nurturing future ambassadors of Seychelles’ most important industry. The La Rosière tourism club revival took place at La Plage Restaurant in Beau Vallon, one of ISPC Seychelles’ business ventures, with the symbolic reveal of a new club logo representing the spirit, values, and future aspirations of the school.

The logo features smiling children from diverse backgrounds standing together, symbolising unity, friendship, and cultural diversity essential to tourism. They are lifting a large glass with a colourful umbrella, a symbol of hospitality service, while raised spoons and forks highlight the importance of food and shared experiences. The pupils of La Rosière are represented by the glass itself, growing and preparing to rise as high as it stands, reflecting their readiness to enter the tourism hospitality industry.

Head teacher Julianna Agathine noted the club had been dormant for a while and currently has 20 students from P2 to P6. The club meets every Monday and will feature activities developing children’s knowledge, creativity, and skills needed in the tourism industry. Students will participate in national competitions including table setting, bed making, and tour guiding.

Brand and sales manager at ISPC Seychelles, Gregory De Ryck, said the company will teach the children how to embrace the hospitality career and sensibility. The initiative began some four years ago and has now been reignited with renewed enthusiasm from both children and facilitators to push the club forward.

The club’s mission, reinforced by the phrase Hospitality with a Smile, promotes kindness, warmth, and excellent service. Students will learn to appreciate the beauty of their country and develop confidence as future ambassadors of Seychelles’ tourism industry, which remains the number one source of revenue for the nation.
