Victoria Scope Digital Platform Launches to Transform News Access for Seychellois
VICTORIA, Seychelles — A new digital media platform, Victoria Scope, has officially launched to transform how Seychellois access news and entertainment online. Founded by entrepreneur and journalist Clive Camille, the platform aims to fill a gap in the local media landscape by providing free, verified content to audiences both at home and abroad.
The platform represents a significant milestone in Seychelles’ digital transformation. Mr Camille identified a market gap after the Seychelles National News Agency’s local and entertainment news service ceased. Victoria Scope now offers Seychellois a way to stay connected with events in the country without subscription barriers, distinguishing itself from existing subscription-based media outlets.
Victoria Scope provides comprehensive coverage spanning politics, entertainment, current affairs, culture, and the arts. The platform operates on core principles of truth and accuracy, independence and impartiality, and accountability and transparency. It also features built-in media streaming capabilities and is accessible via both desktop and mobile at victoriascope.com.
Since its official launch on November 25, 2024, Victoria Scope has attracted visitors from over 60 countries. The majority of traffic comes from local Seychellois users, demonstrating strong demand for credible digital news. However, reader conversations on the platform itself are not yet enabled, though the founder monitors external dialogues and uses social media for engagement.
Mr Camille emphasises that Victoria Scope will remain independent, not favouring any individual, group, or political party. Future plans include introducing classified advertisements, sponsored articles, and commercial packages to sustain the platform financially. The founder also hopes to feature those who desire to be showcased, further reflecting the positive impact of the initiative.
The platform’s launch signals a new era for digital media in Seychelles.
