Victoria Streets Buzz with Last-Minute Christmas Shoppers
VICTORIA, Seychelles — As Christmas approaches, the capital has come alive with a festive atmosphere that is drawing both residents and visitors. From the earliest hours of the day, the streets of Victoria have been busy with shoppers looking for gifts, decorations, and festive items.
Colourful shop windows, well-stocked stalls, and lively discussions between vendors and customers have reflected the unmistakable spirit of Christmas in the city. Toys have been particularly in demand, especially among parents and grandparents keen to make the festive season special for the youngest members of the family. According to Marguerite, a trader at Lari Bazar, the city has been full of buyers looking mainly for toys.
Joanne, a young woman accompanied by her friends, was searching for jewellery for members of her family. ‘This year, I prefer to offer a small piece of jewellery, because it will last a long time,’ she explained. The festive buzz in Victoria is set to continue in the coming days as families complete their Christmas preparations.
