VICTORIA, Seychelles — Home 2 Day Care in Sans Soucis proudly celebrated the graduation of 29 young learners, some of whom spent two years at the daycare, others three, while a few had been part of the Home 2 Day Care family since they were babies. Held on December 20, at the Mont Fleuri secondary school, the ceremony featured joyful songs, thoughtful poems, and charming performances by the different classes.
The choice of orange for the Class of 2025 was deliberate. Colours are an important part of the daycare’s learning approach, with different colours selected each year. In a change from previous ceremonies, gowns were replaced following discussions within the Parent Teacher Committee, where teachers’ experience and parents’ ideas come together to shape meaningful decisions.
Head of Home 2 Day Care, Shila Uzice, shared this perspective during the ceremony. ‘This celebration is not about pressure or formality. It is about recognising growth, effort, and readiness. These children have learned to share, communicate, follow routines, and express themselves. Today, we celebrate all they have achieved and the foundation they now carry forward into kindergarten,’ she said. Established in April 1999, Home 2 Day Care celebrated its 26th anniversary this year and has supported the development of more than 2,000 children.
