Christmas Village at Kenwyn House Opens Early for Orphanages with Magic and Care

VICTORIA, Seychelles — As the countdown to Christmas officially began, the festive season arrived early at Kenwyn House, where children from residential homes across Mahé were treated to a day of creativity, learning, and celebration, ahead of the return of the much-anticipated Kenwyn House Christmas Village, which opened to the public from December 19 to 21, 2025.

Given the growing number of children attending this year and activities operating on a first-come, first-served basis, the Kenwyn House team recognised the need to create a calmer experience, and for the very first time, the Christmas Village opened its doors one day earlier, on December 18, exclusively for children from the different orphanages around Mahé. With the village entirely to themselves, the children were able to explore, create, and celebrate without queues or crowds.

The day began with creative morning workshops at Kenwyn House, welcoming six girls and three boys from President’s Village, and one girl from Foyer de la Solidarité. The girls spent a joyful morning designing and crafting Christmas-themed jewellery, while the boys took part in a hands-on woodworking workshop, where they were mentored by members of the Kenwyn House maintenance department. By the end of the morning, each child proudly walked away with the items they had created, jewellery-making tools and starter kits, specially curated care packages, and lasting memories of a day designed especially for them.
