Belonie Secondary Students Help Develop Dan Bwa Per Nature Trail in Victoria
VICTORIA, Seychelles — The newly established Dan Bwa Per Nature Trail, located at Domus in Victoria, is offering visitors a captivating blend of natural beauty and historical significance. Branded as an inspiring and educational experience, the trail begins at the entrance of Domus, the Catholic priests’ residence, and at its highest point rewards visitors with a breathtaking panoramic view of Victoria town and its surroundings. The descent leads to the historic belfry and church, concluding at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, offering a journey that is both scenic and spiritually reflective.
On August 2, 2025, members of the Dan Bwa Per committee, along with students and their teacher from Belonie secondary school, participated in a fieldwork planning session to support the development of the trail. Activities included removing invasive plant species, cleaning and maintaining pathways, straightening trail sections, and installing gum poles and ropes to stabilise steps and slippery areas, along with various other maintenance tasks.
The session was a resounding success, with students showing great enthusiasm and dedication in completing their assigned tasks. Their efforts contributed significantly to the church’s vision of creating a trail that will serve both tourists and local visitors as a memorable hiking experience, and as a destination for holiday adventures, educational field trips and leisurely outdoor activities that bring people closer to nature while promoting environmental awareness and ensuring its preservation for generations to come.
