Education Sector Strengthens Commitment to Quality Teacher Training

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Ministry of Education has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the quality of teacher training in Seychelles, in the wake of the 2025 graduation of 158 students from the Seychelles Institute of Teacher Education (SITE). Education officials said the graduation reflects the country’s continued investment in producing highly qualified and motivated teachers.

The graduation ceremony, which was held in the presence of President Wavel Ramkalawan, included a call for the new graduates to be role models with integrity, and to embrace the values of the teaching profession in their future work. Officials highlighted the importance of teachers in shaping the next generation of Seychellois and in driving the country’s development.

The Ministry of Education noted that SITE will continue to work closely with schools and education stakeholders to ensure that the training provided meets the needs of the modern Seychellois classroom. The graduation is part of a wider effort to build a strong, resilient, and well-supported education system in Seychelles.
