Seychelles Public Transport Corporation Announces Leadership Change

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Seychelles Public Transport Corporation (SPTC) has announced a leadership change, with the appointment of Sheena Woodcock as the new deputy chief executive. The change, which took effect on June 9, 2025, follows a major optimisation exercise to improve bus services.

Ms Woodcock joins the SPTC from the National Information Services Agency (NISA), where she held a senior position. She replaces Christopher Laurence, who resigned in December 2024. The SPTC said the leadership change is part of a broader effort to strengthen management capacity and modernise the corporation’s operations.

The announcement comes amid ongoing public discussion about the reliability and coverage of the public bus network, particularly in the outer districts of Mahé. Officials at the corporation said they will engage with commuters and stakeholders in the coming weeks to gather feedback on service quality and identify priority areas for improvement.
