President Ramkalawan Marks Children’s Day With Message of Hope

VICTORIA, Seychelles — President Wavel Ramkalawan has extended his warmest wishes to every child across Seychelles on the occasion of International Children’s Day 2025, calling them “the bright stars of Seychelles and the true promise of our future”. In a message released yesterday, the President said the day was an opportunity to celebrate the dreams, boundless energy, innocence, and remarkable resilience of children.
“Each of you is a treasure, and it is our sacred duty as a nation to protect your rights, nurture your talents, and create an environment where you feel safe, heard, and valued,” the President said, adding that the government remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of background or circumstance, has access to quality education, healthcare, and the opportunity to grow in a loving and inclusive society. He said that as the country works towards building a better Seychelles, the voice of children matters and their wellbeing remains at the heart of the national vision for sustainable development.
The President also thanked parents, teachers, caregivers, and communities for the love and guidance they pour into raising the country’s children, calling their role vital in shaping a generation of compassionate, responsible, and empowered citizens. His message to the children themselves was simple. “Keep dreaming, keep learning, and never stop believing in yourselves. Seychelles stands beside you, cheering you on every step of the way.” Children’s Day is observed in Seychelles on June 1 each year, in line with international observance.
