133 Learners Graduate from Guy Morel Institute in 2024 Class Ceremony
VICTORIA, Seychelles — A total of 133 students graduated from The Guy Morel Institute (TGMI) yesterday after completing various courses at different levels, with Nicolette Barra, who graduated with a Diploma in Human Resource Management, winning the ‘Stronger-Together Leader Award’.
The TGMI class of 2024 graduation ceremony, held at the University of Seychelles (UniSey) auditorium at Anse Royale, was attended by Vice-President Ahmed Afif; Minister for Education Dr Justin Valentin; Minister for Youth, Sports and Family Marie-Celine Zialor; Minister for Employment and Social Affairs Patricia Francourt; principal secretary for Educational Services Merna Eulentin; Commissioner of Police Ted Barbe; and TGMI board members. In his address, executive director Patrick Bristol said TGMI is a thriving institute with multiple study programmes and skill-based training, and that five years ago it received full accreditation from the Seychelles Qualification Authority (SQA).
This year the institute is looking forward to re-accrediting five diploma and one certificate programmes, and to accrediting three short programmes. During the ceremony, 11 students were recognised as best performers in their respective courses. For certificate level, the best performers were Heather Monthy (Office and Records Management) and Hanna Quatre (Public Procurement), and Annick Henriette (CILT International Certificate in logistics and transport). At diploma level, Jedette Marengo won best for ACCA Diploma in financial and management accounting RQF level 2, Murshid Elisabeth for level 3, Christian Jupiter for level 4, and Rodney Govinden for General Management. The executive director’s award went to Giran Stravens.
