Ministry of Health Launches New Vaccination Drive Across Schools

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Ministry of Health has launched a new vaccination drive targeting school-aged children across the country, in partnership with the Ministry of Education. The campaign aims to boost immunisation coverage and to ensure that all eligible children receive the full range of recommended vaccines.

Health officials said the drive is part of a wider effort to strengthen public health and to prevent the resurgence of vaccine-preventable diseases. Mobile vaccination teams will be deployed to schools in Mahé, Praslin and La Digue, with the support of school health nurses and the Family Department.

Parents and guardians are being encouraged to ensure that their children are up to date with their immunisations, and to sign the necessary consent forms for in-school vaccination. The Ministry said the drive will run for several weeks and that additional catch-up sessions will be available at health centres for any child who may miss the school visit.
