Seychelles Robotics Team Honoured after FIRST Global Challenge in Panama

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Team Seychelles has been officially honoured for its participation in the FIRST Global Challenge, held in Panama City from October 29 to November 1, 2025, under the theme ‘Eco-Equilibrium’.

The Minister for Education and Human Resource Development, David Pierre, presented the 15 team members with their certificates yesterday afternoon at the Seychelles Institute of Teacher Education. The team comprised students from Suzette Anse Boileau secondary, Anse Boileau secondary, International School Seychelles, Mont Fleuri secondary, Harsha Raj International School Seychelles, Shaundre Clarisse Independent School, and Elizabeth Rousseau Independent School.

They also received certificates of achievement for the social media challenge and video storytelling, which recognised the students’ contribution to the creation of a unique and inspiring video highlighting the journey, teamwork, and spirit of Team Seychelles, and their remarkable impact in representing the country on the international stage.

Officials said the achievement reflects the growing strength of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education in Seychelles and underscores the importance of encouraging young people to engage in robotics and innovation from an early age.
