President Herminie Concludes UAE Visit with Call at Seychelles Embassy in Abu Dhabi
VICTORIA, Seychelles — President Dr Patrick Herminie has concluded his official visit to the United Arab Emirates with a courtesy call at the Seychelles embassy in Abu Dhabi, accompanied by First Lady Veronique Herminie and members of his delegation.
The delegation was warmly received by Ambassador Gervais Moumou, his spouse Pamela Payet, and the staff of the mission. In a brief presentation, the ambassador outlined the embassy’s core mandate in representing and promoting the interests of Seychelles in the UAE and across the 14 countries falling under the mission’s jurisdiction, as well as its role within the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), where he serves as Seychelles’ permanent representative.
Discussions during the visit covered ongoing cooperation between the two countries, the strengthening of bilateral ties, and matters relating to Seychellois nationals resident in the region. The ambassador briefed the President on the mission’s work in advancing Seychelles’ priorities in trade, renewable energy, and cultural diplomacy.
President Herminie expressed his appreciation to the ambassador and his team for their service and commitment. He reaffirmed the government’s continued support for the mission’s work in promoting Seychelles’ interests abroad and in serving Seychellois citizens living in the region.
