IECD Launches Digital Platform to Streamline Child Care Registration
VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Institute of Early Childhood Development in Seychelles, a Category 2 Institute under the auspices of UNESCO, has launched its new digital platform, the Child Care Registration Inspection Information System. The platform was unveiled on Tuesday at the start of the second regional workshop on the Tashkent Declaration and Commitments to Action for Transforming Early Childhood Care and Education, which is being held at IECD headquarters in Ile Perseverance.
The new system is designed to streamline the registration and inspection of child care facilities across the country, allowing early childhood providers to apply, renew, and update their information online. Officials said the platform will reduce paperwork, shorten processing times, and improve the accuracy of records, while also enabling parents to access a registry of licensed child care services.
The launch is part of a wider effort to modernise early childhood services in Seychelles and to align national systems with regional and international standards. The four-day workshop brings together regional partners, ministry officials, and early childhood practitioners to review progress on the Tashkent Declaration and to set out the way forward. IECD said the new digital platform represents a significant step towards a more efficient, transparent, and parent-friendly early childhood system in Seychelles.
