Office of the President Appoints New SPGA Board for Three-Year Term

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Office of the President has confirmed the appointment of the new board of the Seychelles Parks and Gardens Authority (SPGA), with Lucas D’Offay re-appointed as chairperson and Bernadette Willemin as vice-chairperson.
Other members appointed to the board are Nataniel Volcère, Ashley Pothin, Lenny Gabriel, Sharon Meriton-Jean, Melton Ernesta, Yamillia Laurette and Philys Padayachy-Tambara. The members of the board have been appointed for a three-year period effective August 19, 2025.
The President has also thanked the outgoing members for their period of tenure, noting that the SPGA has played an important role in the management and conservation of the country’s parks, gardens and green spaces. The re-appointment of the chairperson is expected to ensure continuity in the implementation of the authority’s strategic plan.
The SPGA is responsible for the management of national parks, botanical gardens and other public green spaces in Seychelles. The authority has been involved in several environmental initiatives, including the rehabilitation of historic sites, tree planting campaigns and the development of eco-tourism activities across the islands.
