Blue Economy Bazaar to Bring Together Innovators and Community Enterprises

VICTORIA, Seychelles — As part of its 10th anniversary celebrations, the Seychelles Department of Blue Economy is organising a bazaar that aims to bring together innovators, community enterprises and members of the public at the Beau Vallon regatta site on July 19. The event will run from 9.30am and is expected to attract a wide cross-section of stakeholders in the maritime and aquatic sectors.

According to the department, the bazaar is intended to simplify the concept of the blue economy and bring it closer to the public by making it more relatable and accessible. It will serve as a platform to highlight how the blue economy plays a role in the daily lives of Seychellois, while encouraging the participation of young people and small businesses in the sector.

The department said the bazaar will feature a wide range of activities, including the sale of fresh fish, on-site job applications, a kids’ corner, and a fiesta with local artists and deejays. There will also be a maritime safety simulation carried out by the Seychelles Maritime Safety Authority, and a series of exhibitions showcasing innovative products and services developed by local enterprises.
