Tourism Service Stars Depart for Prestigious Maldives Internships

MONT FLEURI — Four of the Seychelles’ leading tourism professionals are set to depart for an intensive international internship program in the Maldives, following their recognition at the 2025 Lospitalite Lafyerte Sesel Service Excellence Awards. The awardees—Josianne Toussaint, Kareen Rita Bristol, Franco Cafrine, and Nicolas Louys—were presented with their travel documents by the Minister for Tourism, Amanda Bernstein, and Principal Secretary Sherin Francis at the Botanical House.

The internship, running from May 2 to May 13, 2026, will place the winners in some of the Maldives’ most renowned resorts to observe world-class hospitality standards firsthand.

  • Josianne Toussaint, a Restaurant Hostess at Club Liberté Casino and 5 Spices Restaurant, will be stationed at Kuramathi Resort.
  • Kareen Rita Bristol, Sales and Reservation Supervisor at Oasis Hotel Restaurant and Spa, will undertake her training at Milaidhoo Resort.
  • Franco Cafrine, Operations Manager at Treasure Villa, is assigned to Velassaru Resort.
  • Nicolas Louys, Deputy General Manager at North Island, will join the team at Baros Resort.

Minister Bernstein stated that the program fulfills a government promise to ensure that excellence in the service sector is formally rewarded with professional development opportunities. The initiative is supported by Universal Resorts, which is sponsoring the full internship experience, and Air Seychelles, providing flight logistics.
