Seychelles formally establishes Diplomatic Relations with the Republic of Cameroon

Mr. Barry Faure, Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora of the Republic of Seychelles, met with the Minister of External Relations of the Republic of Cameroon, H.E. Mr Mbella Mbella and signed the Joint Communiqué to officially establish diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The joint communiqué states that the two countries agree to establish their diplomatic relations in conformity with the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 18 April 1961 and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 24th April 1963.

The two ministers agreed to further explore potential avenues for collaboration between the two countries.

The signing marks a significant milestone in Seychelles’ diplomatic outreach within the African continent to fostering friendly relations built on the foundations of mutual respect, equality and sovereignty.
