Sony Payet Appointed as New Chief Executive of Seychelles Ports Authority

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Seychelles Ports Authority (SPA) has announced the appointment of Mr Sony Payet as its new chief executive, in a move that is expected to strengthen the leadership of the country’s ports and to support the development of the maritime sector. The announcement was made by the SPA board, which expressed its confidence in Mr Payet’s ability to lead the organisation.

‘We are delighted to welcome Mr Payet to lead the SPA at this important time for the country’s ports and maritime sector,’ the SPA said, in a statement that noted the importance of strong leadership to delivering the Authority’s mandate. The Board thanked the outgoing leadership for their service and reaffirmed its commitment to working with the new chief executive to deliver on the Authority’s priorities.

Mr Payet thanked the Board for the trust placed in him, and said he looked forward to working with the SPA team, partners, and stakeholders to drive the organisation forward. He said the SPA will continue to focus on safety, efficiency, and customer service, and to support the country’s trade and tourism sectors.
