OIF D-CLIC Mission Highlights Inclusion of Women and Youth in Digital Sector

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The National Library hosted a ‘Women and Digital’ meeting on Thursday morning, organised as part of the mission of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) to Seychelles. The event was held in the framework of the official visit of Madam Catherine Dubreuil, expert of the D-CLIC programme, who is on mission in the country from November 3 to 8, 2025.

The interactive session brought together women entrepreneurs, institutional leaders, and young French-speaking participants, all united around a common objective: promoting greater participation of women in the digital economy. The discussions addressed several key themes, including the place and role of women in the technology sector, training and entrepreneurship opportunities, and the challenges to be met to ensure more equitable digital inclusion.

The D-CLIC programme – ‘Train in digital with the OIF’ – aims to strengthen the digital skills of French-speaking women and young people to support their professional integration and active participation in the digital transformation. It also supports member states in their engagement within global digital governance. Madam Dubreuil indicated that a follow-up meeting on the state of digital and youth in Seychelles will be held on Friday, to better understand the country’s needs and adapt the implementation of the D-CLIC programme.
