Fourteen Ministers Sworn In as New Cabinet Takes Office

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Fourteen individuals have been sworn into office to take on their new ministerial roles under the administration of President Dr Patrick Herminie. The new ministers are Wallace Cosgrow, Barry Faure, Pierre Laporte, Idith Alexander, Pamela Charlette, Dr Marvin Fanny, David Pierre, Marie-May Jérémie, Veronique Laporte, James Camille, Geralda Desaubin, Eveline Rose, Amanda Bernstein and Kalsey Belle.
Each of the ministers was confirmed by the National Assembly following individual nomination hearings that examined their plans, policies, and commitment to public service. The confirmation process, which was carried out over several sittings, allowed elected members to question each nominee on the priorities for the ministries they will lead and on key national issues, including the cost of living, security, the environment, and youth employment.
With the swearing-in now complete, the new Cabinet assumes responsibility for steering the country’s affairs over the coming years. President Herminie has previously stated that he expects his ministers to serve the people of Seychelles with discipline, transparency, and integrity, and to maintain open lines of communication with the public. The executive branch is now fully constituted and ready to begin the work of implementing the government’s policy agenda.
