Seychelles Breweries Launches Selebre Sesel Campaign for 40th Kreol Festival

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Local brewery Seychelles Breweries Ltd (SBL) on Thursday afternoon launched its new ‘Selebre Sesel’ campaign under the tagline ‘Kreol Deor, Seybrew Anndan’, coinciding with the 40th Festival Kreol. The campaign is rolled out through its flagship Seybrew lager, whose bottles now carry a specially designed colourful new label to mark the festival and to celebrate Seychellois Creole culture, tradition and the environment.

The label artwork was created by artist James Agricole, who won first prize in a design competition organised by the company earlier in July for a logo to be placed on Seybrew bottles throughout the festival. The three other artists who took part in the competition were Frances Chang Him, Juliette Zelime and Angela Marzorcchi. Mr Agricole and Veshna Marie, Brand Lead for Seybrew, had the honour of launching the campaign in the presence of SBL director Laurent Theysset and several members of staff.

Speaking at the launch, Derothy Asba, who is in charge of commercial and marketing, said that behind every SBL product there is always an intention to inspire pride, unity and progress. ‘Through this campaign, we are showing how a simple, local, authentic product can take on a new value in the market, and a place in the heart of our people. When someone opens a Seybrew, they are not just drinking a beer, they are celebrating Seychelles and our Creole identity,’ she said.

According to Mrs Asba, although the campaign will run until the end of the Festival Kreol, the new-label Seybrew bottles will continue to be available in limited quantities on the market until they run out. The launch also represents SBL’s continued collaboration with the Festival Kreol committee and the Regatta, of which Seybrew is one of the main partners.
