Seychelles Delegation Concludes Working Visit to Concarneau, France

VICTORIA, Seychelles — An official delegation of Seychelles was in Concarneau, in the Finistère department and Brittany region of France, from August 13 to 17, 2025, for a working visit led by the Seychelles Ambassador to France, Georges Tirant, accompanied by his minister-counsellor, Jacques Belle. The delegation was invited by the mayor of Concarneau, Marc Bigot.

The visit provided an opportunity to strengthen ties between Seychelles and the city of Concarneau, in the heart of Brittany’s maritime tradition, and to explore avenues of cooperation in sectors of mutual interest, including the blue economy, cultural exchange and education. Ambassador Tirant and the delegation met with local officials and members of the Concarneau business community to discuss ways of deepening relations and identifying concrete projects that could benefit both partners.

The visit was also an occasion to highlight the presence and contribution of the Seychellois diaspora in France and to promote Seychelles as a destination for tourism, trade and investment. Ambassador Tirant expressed his appreciation to Mayor Bigot and to the people of Concarneau for their warm hospitality and for the productive exchanges held during the visit, which he said would pave the way for future cooperation between Seychelles and the city.
