Seychelles Para-Athletes Shine with First Athletics Gold Medals at 13th CJSOI Games

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Seychelles para-athletics team has delivered a strong performance on the first day of athletics competition at the 13th CJSOI Games, with Liam Denys and Auria Barbe winning the first two gold medals in athletics for Seychelles. The success marks a significant milestone for para-sports in the country and reflects the dedication of the athletes and their coaches.

Speaking after the events, coaches and team officials said the athletes had trained hard in the lead-up to the Games and were rewarded for their efforts with podium finishes. The para-athletics programme in Seychelles has been growing steadily, with more athletes being identified and supported through the Seychelles National Sports Council and partner organisations.

The victories are expected to inspire more people with disabilities to take up sport and to pursue excellence in their chosen disciplines. The athletes will now turn their attention to the remaining events on the athletics programme, with hopes of adding more medals to the country’s tally. The 13th CJSOI Games continue this week, with the closing ceremony scheduled for the coming days.
