UNDP Seychelles Hosts Open House and Exhibition for Public
VICTORIA, Seychelles — Following the inauguration of its new country office on Monday, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Seychelles yesterday hosted an open house and exhibition at the UNDP House in Bel Air. The one-day event allowed the public, including school children, to enjoy the new facility while reflecting on the organisation’s commitment to sustainability, collaboration and innovation for development.
Visitors explored the work of UNDP both in Seychelles and globally, immersing themselves in impactful stories told through vivid images, videos and 360° virtual reality experiences, offering an exclusive insight into development projects, publications and knowledge resources. The exhibition showcased the involvement of several local organisations, including Belliche, a business specialising in skin and hair products, Scuba Society Seychelles offering diving programmes for students, the Beekeepers Association, and the Local Food Producers Association involved in agroecology practices, agro-tourism and agroforestry, all funded under the UNDP Small Grants Programme.
Visitors also enjoyed interactive activities and games such as basketball, darts, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) memory games, with winners receiving small prizes. UNDP said the open house was part of its ongoing efforts to engage Seychellois communities in the work of the United Nations and to celebrate the opening of its new country office.
