Tourism Seychelles Strengthens South Korea Presence With Seoul Workshop

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Tourism Seychelles successfully hosted a dedicated workshop in Seoul on Monday, June 9, at the Lotte Hotel, bringing together 27 key industry stakeholders, including top-tier media representatives, airline partners, and leading travel agencies. The event underscored Seychelles’ growing commitment to the South Korean market as part of its ongoing strategy to deepen engagement across Asia.

The workshop was organised by Amia Jovanovic-Desir, manager for the South-East Asian markets, and Saida Mussard, marketing executive at Tourism Seychelles. Making a first for this market, a Seychelles-based trade partner, Steven Stefanik, general manager of Raffles Seychelles, joined the event, following his participation in the 40th Seoul International Travel Fair (SITF), held from June 5-8 at COEX.

Attendees were treated to a comprehensive presentation highlighting the Seychelles Islands’ wide-ranging tourism offerings, from boutique guesthouses to luxury resorts, with a tasting of Takamaka Rum adding a flavourful cultural touch. While Seychelles is traditionally recognised in South Korea as a top honeymoon destination, Tourism Seychelles used the occasion to reposition the destination as a versatile choice for families, nature lovers and adventure seekers. ‘There is so much more to Seychelles beyond its romantic image,’ said Mrs Jovanovic-Desir.
