Beau Va Beach Bazaar Opens at Beau Vallon with 15 New Kiosks

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Beau Va Beach Bazaar was officially opened on Sunday afternoon as part of this year’s Independence Day activities. The project, conceived by construction company Laxmanbhai & Co. (Sey) Limited and supervised by the Enterprise Seychelles Agency (ESA), delivers 15 artisanal kiosks, eight excursion-booth connections, four food stalls, four beverage outlets, one lifeguard kiosk, two security kiosks and separate public and tenant toilet facilities.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, ESA managing director Ravi Raghwani said the bazaar had been crafted with joy, spirit and community in mind. He thanked the project’s partners, including the Seychelles Infrastructure Agency (SIA) and the Ministry of Investment, Entrepreneurship and Industry. Investment Minister Devika Vidot added that the new kiosks offer more than 75 individuals a chance to start their own businesses.

President Wavel Ramkalawan, who unveiled the plaque, called on tenants and the public to take good care of the facilities, and to discourage all forms of anti-social behaviour. The ceremony ended with song performances of ‘Beau Vallon Lontan’ and ‘Beau Vallon’, originally by François Havelock and Mickey Mancham respectively, and a dance tribute to the late music icons Bruce Fremino and Georges Payet. National Assembly member for Beau Vallon John Hoareau also addressed the gathering.
