President Ramkalawan Marks Public Service Day With Call for Excellence

VICTORIA, Seychelles — On the occasion of UN Public Service Day, President Wavel Ramkalawan has extended heartfelt appreciation to public officers who serve the nation with dedication, integrity and resilience. The President said he was especially grateful to those public officers who go above and beyond, who work with heart, dedication and a genuine love for their job, noting that their quiet sacrifices, long hours and unwavering commitment to service do not go unnoticed.
This year’s global theme, ‘Five Years to 2030: Accelerating Public Service Delivery for a Sustainable Future’, reminds public servants of the urgent responsibility they carry. The President noted that the decisions made, the standards upheld and the reforms championed today will shape the strength and sustainability of institutions tomorrow. He added that the country’s public service must remain responsive, forward thinking and centred on the needs of every citizen.
The President used the occasion to call on public officers to continue modernising, digitalising and humanising the services they provide. He stressed the importance of tackling inefficiencies, streamlining internal processes and aligning efforts with the evolving needs of citizens, so as to build an inclusive, accountable public service that delivers results and puts Seychelles first. He concluded by saluting all public officers for their continued commitment and wished them a reflective and meaningful Public Service Day.
