National Day 2025 Celebrations to Carry Theme ‘Unity in Diversity’

VICTORIA, Seychelles — June is Seychelles’ month of national pride, unity, and celebration, and Principal Minister Jean-François Ferrari, who also chairs the National Celebrations Committee, has shared details of this year’s festivities during a recent press briefing, putting emphasis on the theme ‘Unity in Diversity’. The celebrations began with the National Unity Relay on June 1, a symbolic and powerful event that set the tone for the rest of the activities.

“The aim is to bring people together and encourage widespread participation in the national festivities,” said Minister Ferrari. The first key celebration will take place on June 18, marking Constitution Day, which will be observed on the three main islands of Mahé, Praslin and La Digue. The full programme of activities, which will run throughout the month, includes cultural performances, school events, and community gatherings.

Minister Ferrari said the theme ‘Unity in Diversity’ reflects the country’s commitment to bringing Seychellois together across communities, generations, and the inner and outer islands. He called on all citizens, community groups, schools, and the private sector to take part in the celebrations. A full calendar of events, including the National Day ceremony on June 29, will be released by the National Celebrations Committee in the coming days.
