SPAR Seychelles to Open New Outlet in Victoria in June

VICTORIA, Seychelles — SPAR Seychelles is set to open a brand-new outlet in Victoria, bringing the popular international supermarket experience closer to the public. The new store will be located in the building that once housed the King Neptune, followed by the Papagalo takeaway, a place with a long and cherished history in the city.
Samad Suleman, the owner of SPAR Seychelles, shared the exciting news in a recent interview. “We always considered moving to the mainland, even Praslin or La Digue. Timing is crucial here; we had to get SPAR Eden right first and establish ourselves as a serious supermarket retailer. We believe it is the right time to expand the brand in Seychelles,” he said. The new SPAR outlet in Victoria will be a small-sized store, just 80 square metres, but packed with quality products and great service. It will offer both grocery items and freshly prepared take-away meals, just like SPAR Eden Island.
The store is expected to open in the first week of June 2025. The interior design has been created in partnership with SPAR South Africa’s preferred architect, ensuring a professional and welcoming layout. The site has sentimental value for the Suleman family, as it was once home to the King Neptune takeaway, run by Mr Suleman’s mother, Marie-Andree Suleman. The takeaway was famous for its chicken and chips. SPAR Eden Island also underwent a complete revamp last year, with an investment of over R10 million.
