Frederika Poussou Appointed CEO of Fair Trading Commission

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Office of the President yesterday announced the appointment of Frederika Poussou as the new chief executive (CEO) of the Fair Trading Commission (FTC), effective May 4, 2025. Mrs Poussou holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Seychelles and a Bachelor’s Degree with First Class Honours in Business Studies in International Hotel Management from the Shannon College, Ireland.
Mrs Poussou has over 14 years of experience working in the private sector and the public service. She joined the FTC in April 2014 as an analyst and has since occupied several senior positions within the Commission. Prior to her appointment as chief executive, Mrs Poussou was the deputy CEO, a post she has held since June 2024.
The appointment is part of a series of leadership changes at the FTC in recent months, as the Commission continues to fulfil its mandate of promoting fair competition and protecting consumers in Seychelles. The new CEO will be responsible for leading the Commission’s work in enforcing the Fair Trading Act, reviewing mergers and acquisitions, and raising awareness about consumer rights across the country. The Commission has urged all operators to comply with the law and to ensure that consumers are treated fairly.
