Four Senior Staff Resign from Islands Development Company

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Four senior employees of the Islands Development Company have resigned, it has been learned. A reliable source confirmed the resignations yesterday, following a social media post claiming that several senior staff had resigned, along with other allegations. When contacted for a comment, Islands Development Company (IDC) chief executive, Cyril Bonnelame declined to comment on the resignations.
According to the social media post, the employees who resigned include the chief financial officer, head of construction, and head of Information Technology. The post comes just weeks after IDC made headlines, when Mr Bonnelame stated during his first press interview on March 11 that IDC is facing debts exceeding R200 million, and that his main challenge would be to improve the company’s financial position and operations.
Mr Savy, the former chief executive, later explained the company’s financial status and the conditions under which the leadership was handed over. Mr Bonnelame’s appointment took effect shortly after. The wave of senior departures raises further questions about governance and stability at the IDC at a time when the company is undertaking a forensic audit into its operations and is restructuring its finances to ensure long-term soundness. The Times of Seychelles will continue to monitor developments and provide updates on the leadership changes at the Islands Development Company.
