Cable & Wireless Seychelles and Hytera Sign MoU to Strengthen Digital Infrastructure

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Cable & Wireless Seychelles (CWS), the nation’s telecommunications provider, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Hytera Communications, a global leader in professional communications technologies, at the Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona, Spain. The MoU was signed by Naadir Hassan, chief executive of CWS, and Tony Wang, Business Development Director at Hytera, with Oliver Fock-Tave, Associate Director of Products & Services and Information Systems at CWS, also present.

The MoU outlines a framework for advancing Seychelles’ digital landscape through a series of key initiatives. A primary focus of the collaboration is the development of the ‘Seychelles Emergency Communication Redundant Network’, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity during critical situations, including natural disasters and national emergencies. Additionally, the partnership will deliver state-of-the-art communication solutions tailored to sectors such as public safety, energy, transportation, and tourism. Hytera will provide cutting-edge Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) devices, Mission Critical Services (MCX) core networks, and cloud-based platforms, which will integrate seamlessly with CWS’s robust 4G/5G network.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr Hassan commented: ‘At Cable & Wireless Seychelles, we remain at the forefront of technological advancement in the country.
